Prophet Muhammad ﷺ concluded the line of prophets in Islam sent by Allah Almighty. Additionally, his life showcased extraordinary events, challenging the natural order and revealing his divine connection and God’s intervention. The Hadiths carefully document these miracles, thereby confirming his prophethood and underlining his deep impact on the world.
01 The Splitting of the Moon
One of the most renowned miracles attributed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the splitting of the moon. Moreover, this amazing event responded to a challenge by disbelieving Meccans, demanding proof of his prophethood. In reply, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ raised his index finger towards the moon, causing it to miraculously split into two halves, visible to all. Consequently, this event, widely witnessed by the inhabitants of Mecca, served as a powerful affirmation of his prophethood.
The people of Mecca asked Allah’s Messenger ﷺ to show them a miracle. So he showed them the moon split in two halves between which they saw the Hira’ mountain.

02 The Night Journey and the Ascension
During this remarkable night, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ rode a mythical creature called Buraq, transporting him from Mecca to Jerusalem. This marked the extraordinary Night Journey and Ascension, known as Isra and Mi’raj in Arabic. From Jerusalem, he ascended to the heavens, where he encountered previous prophets, met angels, and conversed with God Himself. The spiritual journey, also narrated in the Hadith, showcases Prophet Muhammad’s unique role as a prophet and his direct communion with the divine realm.
Glory be to the One Who took His servant ˹Muhammad˺ by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque whose surroundings We have blessed, so that We may show him some of Our signs. Indeed, He alone is the All-Hearing, All-Seeing.

03 Water Gushing from His Fingers
On numerous occasions, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ demonstrated his miraculous ability to multiply water, quenching the thirst of his companions during times of shortage. His army encountered a severe water shortage at one instance. Upon their request, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ placed his hands in a vessel containing a small amount of water, and water miraculously gushed forth from between his fingers, providing ample sustenance for the entire army. This incident, narrated in many Hadiths, along with more instances of him performing such miracles where his companions faced water shortage many times in Hudaybiah, including the notable well incident which the Prophet ﷺ caused to swell with water.
I saw the water gushing out from his fingers. So the people performed the ablution and drank.

04 The Healing of the Sick
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was also known for his ability to heal the sick through his supplications and touch. On many occasions, he miraculously cured people with diverse ailments, restoring their health and showcasing miracles. These documented accounts in the Hadiths affirm his role as a healer, addressing both physical and spiritual afflictions. One of these hadiths narrate the story of how Prophet Muhammad placed his saliva on Ali’s eyes and he was miraculously cured.
So he applied saliva to his eyes and invoked Allah to cure him. He at once got cured as if he had no ailment.

05 The Instantaneous Answer to Prayers
Prophet Muhammad’s prayers were known for their remarkable swiftness in being answered. On several occasions, whether for rain, victory, or protection, his pleas were met almost instantaneously, showcasing his direct connection with God. These instances, narrated in the Hadiths, underscore his role as a link between humanity and the divine, emphasizing the potency of prayer and supplication.
Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said twice, “O Allah! Bless us with rain.” By Allah, there was no trace of cloud in the sky and suddenly the sky became overcast with clouds and it started raining.
